The Maasai community in Tanzania is struggling with poverty caused by displacement from their ancestral lands, the loss of Indigenous land rights, gender inequality, and illiteracy. Consequently, many displaced children live in harsh, impoverished conditions and are unable to pursue their dreams due to limited access to quality education. In 2022, a group of young Maasai ”Kosei, Ayubu, and Angela” took action to address these challenges in their community. Their primary goal was to promote education among children in order to reduce illiteracy and improve the overall livelihoods of their communities.

Later that year, the Maasai Ingera Foundation was founded, with it’s headquarters located in Morogoro Region, Tanzania Mainland. The foundation’s primary objectives are to empower children living in difficult circumstances, expand entrepreneurial opportunities, and support business activities for parents, enabling them to provide quality education for their children. Additionally, the foundation aims to improve the livelihoods of local community members.
